Conversations, Adventures and it's been a while. [Mar. 10th, 2004|11:14 pm]
Ok, first I'll get Martin's conversation out of the way.

Babbage: i just dropped off a sample at the dr's
Babbage: (testing for some psoriasis)
Dyason: urine not sperm?
Babbage: no
Babbage: I got the girl behind the counter - young,
attractive
Babbage: she took it
Babbage: `thanks`
Babbage: i said
Babbage: `have I got all the details right`
Babbage: she said:
Babbage: `name, date of birth, ....`
Babbage: went quiet
Babbage: id written `willy swab` on it :D
Dyason: LOL

It made me laugh very loudly. Apparently after all that he walked out as she was rereading it several times over.

So what have I been upto? Well last weekend was Simon's housewarming in Manchester. I had the pleasure of Chiz and Becky picking me up from Leicester too. I haven't seen these guys in about a year and a half now, and I was amazed at how I felt really at home with them. We do talk a lot, so it's not like we're out of touch. Simon's new house is absolutely huge. I was sleeping in his attic room, and I adore his comic collection. I should have gone straight to sleep but I spend about an hour looking through them in the end.

The company was great too. Simon's wife Chris did some amazing food. I also suspect the reason the house looked so amazing was because she organises it (I don't see Simon being a big housework guy). Why are girls not so domesticated nowadays etc? But anyways. Becky was as funny and random as I remember her being. It's amazing how intelligence can mix with randomness and create such imagery. I got to meet Dave and Nariel, who I'd read about and spoken to a few times but don't recall that well from Simon's last party. I look forward to seeing them all again!

At this party I was the ONLY person who'd not gone in a couple. (Other than Lucy the tv recorder, but she doesn't count because . . . well she was amazing eyecandy but she wasn't staying. Oh, and the young girl, but she was VERY young.) I demand Simon make more female friends for next time!

good music, ex-gf's and internet friends [Jan. 25th, 2004|09:48 pm]
Last night was SO good! One of the best nights out I've had in ages. Pancake and Babbage visited early Saturday afternoon and was cool seeing pancake again. I forgot how big that guy actually is! So anyway, [info]abnormalchild and Rachel came to mine. And we were joined by Babbage, Pancake and DaSandman. Being far too early to go out I introduced them to the delights of Samba de Amigo. Seeing two grown over 6 foot tall playing it is really something. The girls wussed out though and weren't interested in playing it, girls are always embarassed about such things for some reason. From there we went on to megabowl and proceeded to play Dance Dance Revolution. Again much amusement. Considering I was the youngest at 24 some people might think we're quite strange. Can't possibly imagine why. From there we went on to Retribution far to early, and played foozball and pool. I have to say, the music was really good. Was fun getting Sandy and Pancake dancing too! Even Babbage danced and that's something that normally never happens. After Ret we went for food and had some yummy pizza. Then Joey, [info]abnormalchild and Rachel crashed at mine.

By strange coincidence my ex-gf Bek messaged me on msn yesterday and she was going Ret. It's even stranger by the fact that she came with me last time I met up with Pancake and Sandy, therefore knowing them! She was at Ret and was nice seeing her again and dancing with her.

In all was one of the best nights out I've had in a long time. Only downpoint to the evening was Tom went to GAY Mosh again. Grrrrrrrrrrr! Oh well, next time! Next weekend it's J's birthday and she wants me to go to Mosh. I'm gonna go along for a little while and then head to Ret as there's some different Internet people in Leicester who want to see me. I feel in demand!

Weekend fun! [Jan. 24th, 2004|06:21 pm]
Woo, had the pleasure of Tom and [info]abnormalchild last night. Well not literally the pleasure, but it was fun. We watched Alien and played games. Tom and I got thoroughy beaten at Tennis online. But the conversation was tres amusing! See abnormalchild's journal for her take on the whole thing.

Pancake and DaSandman are visiting Babbage and I this weekend. We're taking the out to Retribution tonight which should be lots of fun. Not sure who's coming back after but a few people and late night antics hopefully. Will do an update tomorrow.

giggage [Jan. 22nd, 2004|10:26 pm]
[Current Mood |sleepy]

Went to see Tom's band on Tuesday. They're called New Type and were actually pretty funky. Only stayed for their band and Spair Tong (who I thought were ok, but wasn't overly impressed with). I took a few pictures which was fun. I've not done gig photography, and I think they turned out ok. There's quite a bit I'd like to do different next time, less use of flash, higher iso, better framing etc. Will have to practice more!

Visited Martin last night as Sharon was away. His parrot Indy is so amazingly cool. I swear he could be deadly if he wanted to be though! We played some computer games and watched the start of a film by the Jackass crew called Haggard. Looked good and can't wait to see the rest of it. Tonight I came home and am having an early bed. I was late last night and haven't felt great today.

Looking forward to the weekend. Two of our Internet friends are coming up and we're taking them along to Retribution and generally going to have a fun night out. We'll see what they're like on the dance arcade machine too.

l33t ninj4 skillz [Jan. 20th, 2004|11:59 am]
[Current Mood |predatory]

Went to see Last Samurai last night with Jody. Tom Cruise was looking exceptionally good. When I first saw the movie advertised I was instantly dismissive due to the fact that a westerner was cast as a samurai. Having seen it I think they did it very well. I recommend it, it's not perfect but it is fun. One bad thing though, the ninjas in it were lame. They were seen, they didn't kill many people and they didn't do any neat ninja tricks. Grrrrrrr.

At work I'm currently have trouble with a new server we ordered. It arrived with a RAID controller error and I'm annoyed at how much effort it's taking to get it all sorted out. This is a brand new expensive piece of hardware! I shouldn't be having to spend so much time trying to fix something new. Tsk tsk.

Tonight Tom's band is playing at the Charlotte. I said I'd take pics so I'm gonna be pimping my cam skillz. Might put some on here if I can be bothered.

Tiredness [Jan. 18th, 2004|10:05 pm]
[Current Mood |tired]

Well [info]senourita has been complaing as I haven't done an update and it's unfair if she does them and I don't. I don't see why, I can be lazy if I want to! Besides, there's not been that much to say really.

Friday Tom came over and we went to meet some of his friends at megabowl. They were cool, and not the usual mix of people either. I like it when you get a bunch of friends and they're all from different backgrounds etc. I didn't stay that long though as I can spend way too much money at arcades given half the chance. He then went to Mosh. yes GAY Mosh. and had the balls to invite me!!! Mosh SUCKS. Hear that J, Tom? It blows!

Bought Top Spin for the xbox yesterday. I love console Tennis games. It's a LOT harder than Virtua Tennis 2 but it's fun. The games are actually very challange. Don't think much of the online mode, the lag annoyed me a bit and the other players are just WAY too good! I'll have to put much more practice in.

It was out to Retribution last night as seems to be the usual thing. [info]sugar_madness and [info]abnormalchild came round to mine as they were staying over. I also had the pleasure of [info]senourita's sister Cat. It was all highly amusing and [info]abnormalchild even persuaded flatmate Vicky to come out! Vicky left early with the girl's coat tickets though, oops!

Nice lazy day today. Had the pleasure of [info]senourita's company and we watched Leon. I really do love that movie. Is it just me who cried at the end the first time I watched it?

Well, Tom visited me at work today and proceded to stand right behind me for half an hour. But besides that, was cool him turning up. I don't have a huge office, and it's quite cosy with two people in it. More cosy if they're of the opposite sex, but enough said. Met his friend Gemma and bummed about for a bit. I saved the world (played computer games, same difference!) and now I'm off to bed. I think I did a good job in keeping the earth spinning in all.

Weeeeeeeeekend [Jan. 12th, 2004|02:15 pm]
[Current Mood |chipperchipper]

So much for my weekend plan of gaming. At least I managed to game Friday night as previously mentioned. Saturday I was just planning to bum around and stay in. In one of my weird moments, of which I have now and then, I added all my friends to a single msn chat and got persuaded to go out. [info]abnormalchild came round and we met up with Babbage. From there it was on to retribution for the night! I ended up bringing [info]abnormalchild and Joey home with me. No, not for anything naughty! We found some amusing dodgy cam sites and then my flatmate entertained them with a movie at 6am when I went to bed. They eventually left someone Sunday afternoon and I got to game some more.

[info]senourita was supposed to have come over Sunday afternoon to watch Leon, but magically disappeared off the face of the earth. Her sister phoned me and asked if I knew where she'd gone from the club. She's alive, I got a text this morning so nothing to fear there at least. Plans for this week are work, Jiu Jitsu and try and spend as little as possible.

Too . . . much . . . argh! [Jan. 10th, 2004|12:22 pm]
[Current Mood |ditzyditzy]

I think I might have abused my new toy too much. After not having Internet for nearly a year I've done nothing but play games and sleep whilst I've been home since I got it (ok, that's only 2 nights so far, bite me). Tom came over last night and we had an entire evening/early morning with Desert Combat. Why is that game so addictive and loud? And most of the time just downright funny too! Tom's seeing his girlfriend tonight, so gaming alone although he will probably be round during the day.

Flatmates sister was round yesterday and generally wooing about the Internet. I wonder if this is the kind of reaction man got when they made fire. Women wanted to play with it and understand it, and also ask stupid questions about it. Luckily flatmate answered all of her stuff and I just had to listen to it vaguely whilst I blew things up.

Can't decided whether to go out tonight or stay in. It would be cheaper to stay in, but then a night out only costs £3.50 for me anyway . . . I'll see how I feel later in the day. I'm hungry, I need to get dressed and go buy some food.

Nearly the weekend [Jan. 9th, 2004|09:17 am]
Yay, it's Friday. That means I'll be able to enjoy fully the wonder of having a home Internet connection again. Set Vicky up last night and introduced her to the wonders of MSN and TCZ. She seemed fairly happy with it all. After my work was done I jumped online for some Desert Combat. I think that games going to be taking up a large chunk of my time. Maybe I'll be able to round up my old clan.

I don't think I'll be out this weekend . . . far too many games to be playing!

Grrrrrrr! [Jan. 8th, 2004|04:38 pm]
[Current Mood |bouncybouncy]

J skanked me at lunch AGAIN. Can't believe it. Just cuz she's got some other boy in her life now she ditches me. Who else am I meant to rant on to? And I still want to know why she puts me as loudest and weirdest person she knows in her journal. I'm neither, honest.

Reinstalled my home computer for gaming, Internet is up and running so YAY! Think I'll be playing Desert Combat online tonight. Can't wait. Will see if Tom wants to come round this weekend and we can play online. Will be a blast.

Holidays, Diarys and Internet access [Jan. 8th, 2004|10:26 am]
[Current Mood |geeky]

Well after a boring Christmas I finally get Internet at home again. I decided not to get it when I first moved in as there was so much else to do, over the winter there's been substantially less which is no fun! So now I have it at home I'll be able to talk to all those people who are at work like me during the day but without net access. Also my flatmate Vicky might make some new friends, I'll try and help her along the way a little.

Never really bothered writing what I did down before, it's not that interesting but then again I seem to find much perverse pleasure reading about the antics going on in other peoples lives. Maybe that's just the voyeur in me.

Holidays over, back to work . . . and online gaming here I come! Woohoo!
